Scenario 1:
Veselin had a very tasty fish curry last night with his family. He liked it so much that he wanted to bring it into work. Should he bring his fish curry to work and zap it with the shared microwave at his office?
Scenario 2:
Wyatt was born on the Pacific Ocean on his parent’s sea vessel. He spent a majority of his life on the ocean learning all about the creatures of the sea. His parents decided it was time for him to socialize with more people of his own age, so they were able to enroll him into a high school in Detroit, Michigan. Should Wyatt code switch to fit in with his peers?
Scenario 3:
Sophina has been the captain of her Water Polo team for all of her years at one of the most prestigious high schools in the nation. She was recently invited to speak to a group of urban youth about balancing sports with academics. Should she code switch to more closely resonate with the group she is speaking to?
