• Shatasia struggled all throughout high school. She attended within her district, but feels they never catered to her learning style. She feels she should find a job as soon as possible so she can save up and move to LA. Her counselor tells her she should have a good shot at attending a 4 year college for performing arts. Do you think affirmative action would help Shatasia be accepted to college, even though her grades are low?

• Adegboyega is an all around superstar at his school. He plays nearly every sport for each season, while still making time to attend mathematics competitions and even tutor his peers. He recently was accepted into all of the colleges he applied to with a full ride. A buddy of his told him, the only reason he got in was due to affirmative action. Do you think affirmative action diminishes Adeboyega's personal achievements?

• Scenario 3:  

• Ji is a Chinese American who applied to a competitive college. He has been on the Dean's List every year, is captain of the LaCrosse team, and an editor for his high school newspaper. Unfortunately, his application was denied. Do you think affirmative action prevented him from being accepted into his college of choice?
