Episode 289: What is Critical Race Theory About?

• Scenario 1:

• Colm is a white man who wants to prove systemic racism in America is non-existent. He decided to get his home appraised twice. First he left pictures of his family around the house, the second time he put pictures of his black best friend's family around the house and removed any trace of his own family. The appraisal came back lower the second time when the house had the black pictures up. Does this disprove that systemic racism exists? 

• Scenario 2: 

• Patsy heard her children talking amongst themselves about their day at school. One of them mentioned people of color are suppressed by certain laws. Do you think Patsy should tell everyone at the next town hall that the elementary school is teaching Critical Race Theory?

• Scenario 3: 

• Ria defines herself as a social justice warrior. She fights injustice day and night. Her next goal is to get Critical Race Theory taught at every school level, starting with Pre-K. Do you think it makes sense for everyone to be taught Critical Race Theory?
