Episode 214: Can You be Addicted to the Internet?
SCENARIO #1:
Aquila is a real estate agent who constantly checks her phone to communicate with clients and associates. She even takes showers with her phone so she does not miss anything. Would this be a possible sign that she has IAD (Internet Addiction Disorder)?
SCENARIO #2:
Jahshoi argues that one might be obsessed with the Internet, but that is not the health disorder. He thinks people that claim to have the disorder are wrong and should admit that they have another mental health problem. Does Jahshoi have a point or should he keep his opinions to himself?
SCENARIO #3:
Natalyn works at a sports line marking company and uses a workphone that blocks all access to the internet. The company doesn’t allow their employees to carry personal cell phones while on jobs, so Natalyn does not access the internet at all during the day. As soon as she gets home she is on social media until she goes to bed. Is it possible that she is addicted to the internet?
